Last week saw the opening of Graham Fink’s exhibition Ballads of Shanghai at Riflemaker gallery, London. Orbis worked alongside Graham to design and execute a system to varnish selected areas of the large ink-jet printed works. After trialling various mediums and chemical combinations, we found the perfect mix and then meticulously applied the gloss by brush to areas selected by Graham.

In addition, we fabricated the frames for all the works using reclaimed pine scaffold boards selected by the artist intended to reflect the subject matter. These were the milled, routed, coloured and waxed at our workshop.

The results were fantastic and worked really well with the interior of Riflemaker gallery.
