The Last Straw, IKEA

The Swedish furniture chain IKEA announced in June that it will phase out all single-use plastic products from its stores globally by 2020 amid growing concern about the effects of plastic on the environment.

Plastic straws, plates, cups, freezer bags, bin bags, and plastic-coated paper plates and cups are all being phased out and replaced by alternatives.

Orbis were happy to be a part of this important campaign. We created the mounting system and display case for their 'Last Straw', and installed this at the Design Museum in London, where it was on display on their mezzanine floor. This was accompanied by a short film, see below, highlighting the small sustainable steps we can all take in protecting the home we all share.
