Update: Paolozzi Mosaics, Tottenham Court Road Underground Station

Eduardo Paolozzi mosaic at Tottenham Court Road Underground Station, commissioned by Transport for London

Update on the Eduardo Paolozzi Mosaics project:

We have cleaned the mosaic, applied a barrier layer, laid the protective covering (a resinous plaster with steel rebar), and fitted the steel lifting frame that will resist any twisting of the piece during movement and aid all lifts. It was particularly difficult to design this frame due to the amount of different orientations the piece must go through to access various doorways and lift shafts on its route to the new location. We used a diamond wire saw to cut the mosaic and frame free from the wall in order for it to be craned down into the station.
